Paul tells Gina he's angry with himself for taking her advice and ending his therapy with Laura. He imagines what it would be like to act on his attraction to her, and he doesn't think that it's so unusual. Paul then blames Gina for suggesting a course of action and then washing her hands of the consequences. Gina replies that Paul is impossible to satisfy with any course of action – he continually pushes her back with aggression, essentially placing the entire topic of Laura as off limits. Paul mentions that Laura started dating Alex to get back at him, but Gina has no sympathy for him as "the wounded man." She theorizes that he wants to run off, away from Laura, just like his father abandoned his mother. "Is this your help," he asks. "I thought you were better than this."
