Comedian and “Space Prince” Julio Torres (Los Espookys; Saturday Night Live) examines his favorite shapes — yes, that’s right — which include a plexiglass square, an oval that wishes he were a circle, a self-conscious cactus and a Ferrero Rocher chocolate. Each of his shapes contains multitudes, which Torres explores with fantastical stories and humorous anecdotes.
My Favorite Shapes by Julio Torres is directed by Dave McCary, who has collaborated with Torres throughout his career, including on the critically acclaimed SNL sketches “Papyrus” and “Wells for Boys.” Taped before a live audience at Elsewhere in Brooklyn, The special is executive produced by Fred Armisen and Lorne Michaels.

Watch the stand-up special The Los Angeles Times called "Defiantly unique comedy" now.

In My Favorite Shapes, Julio Torres deconstructs the traditional stand-up special with crystals, toys and miniature furniture. But, what does he think about trapezoids?

“I just need to show my shapes. That’s all this is for.”

Exploring the magnetic pull of the young, confident and attractive, Julio introduces us to the shape of his social media intern, Josh.

Julio reminisces about Disney’s The Hunchback Of Notre Dame and how the “Tender Parisian drama for children” led to a very conflicting Happy Meal toy.
