Renee Elise Goldsberry

Renée Elise Goldsberry received the Tony Award, Grammy Award, Drama Desk Award and Lucille Lortel Award for her portrayal of Angelica Schuyler in the Broadway juggernaut Hamilton. Prior to Hamilton, Renee’s appearances on Broadway include her Broadway debut as Nala in the Lion King, her performance opposite Frances McDormand in the play Good People, originating the role of Nettie in The Color Purple, and her star turn as Mimi in the final cast of Rent, filmed live on Broadway.

Prime-time audiences know Renée as Geneva Pine from every season of The Good Wife, and soap fans fell in love with her as Evangeline Williamson on One Life to Live. She will time warp into the future to play political revolutionary Quelcrist Falconer in her new series Altered Carbon, on Netflix.

Renée has a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University, an MFA in vocal Jazz from the University of Southern California, and she is a passionate adjunct professor at New York University’s Tisch School for the Performing Arts.
