Even as the stagecoach carries Martha to Deadwood and a reunion with her new husband, Seth Bullock is involved in a very passionate embrace with Alma Garret in her hotel room. By the time the stage actually pulls into town, Martha's husband is in a life and death battle with Al Swearengen, who has humiliated Bullock publicly over his affair with the widow Garret.
