What’s New on HBO This May

This May, get ready for HBO’s must-see series, movies, and documentaries. Our line-up features leading ladies across the board, with the return of In Treatment for a new season, as well as new episodes of The Nevers, Mare of Easttown, and A Black Lady Sketch Show. Mortal Kombat

This explosive cinematic adventure inspired by the blockbuster video game franchise pits Earth’s greatest champions against enemies from Outworld in a high-stakes battle for the universe. In theaters and streaming exclusively on HBO Max through May 23 at no extra cost to subscribers.

Those Who Wish Me Dead

Angelina Jolie stars as a smoke jumper still reeling from the loss of three lives she failed to save from a fire when she comes across a traumatized 12-year-old boy with nowhere else to turn in this thriller. In theaters and streaming exclusively on HBO Max through June 13 at no extra cost to subscribers.

In Treatment

Ten years after the Season 3 finale, In Treatment is returning for a new season, this time starring Emmy winner Uzo Aduba as the central therapist. She'll help guide a trio of patients as she wrestles with her own issues in this half-hour drama series.

HBO Original Film Premieres May 29

Adapted from the Tony Award-winning play of the same name, Oslo stars Ruth Wilson and Andrew Scott (His Dark Materials) and is based on a true story of negotiations between implacable enemies that led to the 1993 Oslo Peace Accords.

New Documentaries

The Crime of the Century

A two-part documentary directed by Emmy and Academy Award winner Alex Gibney, The Crime of the Century is a searing indictment of Big Pharma and the political operatives and government regulations that enable over-production, reckless distribution, and mass abuse of synthetic opiates.

Pray, Obey, Kill

The five-part documentary series revisits a complex Swedish murder case from 2004 that included a nanny confessing to the crimes, claiming she was told to through text messages from God.
