The Trust for Trauma Journalism supports journalists as first responders. Its mission is to provide funding to advance innovative, exemplary reporting on violence, conflict, tragedy and their aftermath, and to sustain global initiatives that prepare news professionals for the impact of covering traumatic events.
The Committee to Protect Journalists is an independent, nonprofit organization that promotes press freedom worldwide. The CPJ defends the right of journalists to report the news without fear of reprisal.
CPJ reports on violations in repressive countries, conflict zones, and established democracies alike and advocates on behalf of global press freedom. They also provide comprehensive, life-saving support to journalists and media support staff working around the world through up-to-date safety and security information and rapid response assistance to journalists at risk.
CPJ is also part of a press freedom coalition supporting the U.S. Press Freedom Tracker, cataloging threats to press freedom in the U.S.
