Denzel Washington is John Creasy, a broken, alcoholic former C.I.A. agent who heads to Mexico City to watch over a couple's young daughter Pita. With abductions occurring on a daily basis, Creasy slowly comes out of his shell as he keeps an eye on his young charge. But when a vicious gang of kidnappers snatches Pita and leaves Creasy for dead, he vows revenge.
