Steven Moffat Will Bring Time Travel to HBO
Steven Moffat, the award-winning creator of BBC shows Sherlock, Coupling, and executive producer of the revival of Doctor Who, will be adapting The Time Traveler’s Wife for HBO. The new drama series, based on Audrey Niffenegger’s novel, follows the relationship of Clare and Henry, whose marriage has one significant problem...time travel.
“I read Audrey Niffenegger’s The Time Traveler’s Wife many years ago, and I fell in love with it,” shared Moffat, who wrote Doctor Who episode, “The Girl in the Fireplace,” in direct response to the book. “It’s a story of happy ever after — but not necessarily in that order.”
Through Hartswood Films, in association with Warner Bros. Television, Moffat will serve as both a writer and executive producer of the series, alongside executive producers Sue Vertue and Brian Minchin.
Jeremy Irons will team with Regina King and Don Johnson in Damon Lindelof’s new series.
The adaptation of Matt Ruff's H.P. Lovecraft-inspired novel has its director for the first episode.
Based on Elena Ferrante's bestselling book, the series tells the story of Elena Greco and her tempestuous friendship with her best friend — and worst enemy — Raffaella "Lila" Cerullo.
