Everything You Need to Know About Lindsey Vonn: The Final Season
Renowned skier Lindsey Vonn will star in a new documentary that captures the final moments of her final World Championship as well as her rise from child prodigy to a four-time Olympic gold medalist.
Lindsey Vonn: The Final Season gives viewers unprecedented access to Vonn’s experience prior to the World Championships in Are, Sweden, capturing the final, intimate moments of her last race. The film retraces the unexpected twists and turns she experienced throughout her career as well as the trials and tribulations she faced in its final chapter.
Vonn made her Olympic debut at 17-years-old at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games and went on to become an athlete to watch ahead of the 2006 Torino games. The rising star won her first-ever Olympic downhill gold medal four years later in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics after overcoming a knee injury but missed out on the 2014 Sochi Winter Games after reinjuring it again. She made a swift comeback at the 2018 Winter Games in South Korea winning her third Olympic medal.
Directors Steve and Todd Jones said, “During our time with Lindsey and the piece, this became something much larger than a chase for a record. The film reveals her sacrifices, her unrivalled commitment to success, and the personal highs and lows associated with her level of talent and drive.”
Considered the greatest female skier alive, Vonn has won 82 World Cup races, three Olympic medals including the gold at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver; and four overall World Cup titles over the course of her nearly two-decade long career. Off the slopes, Vonn became a global icon attending sports business conferences, partnering with charities, and participating in speaking engagements.
Lindsey Vonn: The Final Season premieres November 26th at 10 p.m. You can watch Lindsey Vonn’s announcement on Instagram.
