What Would You Do For The Throne?
HBO launched a four-phased campaign that included celebrity-hosted binge stunt, global artist influencer campaign, a large scale social good activation at SXSW and a global scavenger hunt.
In partnership with the American Red Cross, HBO hosted a blood drive at SXSW. The activation was a war camp featuring multiple experiences inspired by what characters did for the Throne. Snapchat AR filters allowed for fans to have a layered, sharable digital experience.
After much anticipation, the Season 8 trailer crushed HBO’s previous record for the most views in 24 hours for a TV trailer with 81.5M cross-platform views, surpassing the Season 7 trailer’s 61M 24-hour view record.
