Ahead of the epic final season of Game of Thrones, HBO reminded fans of everything their favorite characters have done #ForTheThrone. The multi-phased campaign excited existing fans, intrigued new ones and dominated cultural conversation around the historic television event. When HBO asked fans what they did #ForTheThrone, they did not disappoint.

What Would You Do For The Throne?

HBO launched a four-phased campaign that included celebrity-hosted binge stunt, global artist influencer campaign, a large scale social good activation at SXSW and a global scavenger hunt.

HBO partnered with Twitter and tapped celebrity GoT fans Jimmy Kimmel, rapper T-Pain, Broadway star Kristen Chenoweth and NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers to host a Season 1 binge.

Eighteen artists from around the globe created art inspired by the series, encouraging fans to share their creations.

In partnership with the American Red Cross, HBO hosted a blood drive at SXSW. The activation was a war camp featuring multiple experiences inspired by what characters did for the Throne. Snapchat AR filters allowed for fans to have a layered, sharable digital experience.
