Scholly Announces Scholarship Fund for Student-Athletes

In support of Student Athlete, Scholly is helping young athletes pay for college.

In support of Student Athlete — a documentary about the broken college athletics system from HBO, SpringHill Entertainment, and UnitedMasters — Scholly has established a scholarship to help student-athletes win up to $10,000 to pay for college.

The Student Athlete Scholarship will specifically provide both rising and current college student-athletes with scholarship money towards the completion of their undergraduate degree. “We’re excited to be working with HBO, SpringHill Entertainment, and UnitedMasters to support their trailblazing documentary, Student Athlete, and increase opportunity for student-athletes nationwide,” said Christopher Gray, Scholly co-founder and CEO.

Scholly helps high school seniors and current college and graduate-level students find the right education scholarships with an intelligent, adaptive matching engine. Students interested in receiving the Student Athlete Scholarship can apply from Scholly’s website. Applications are due May 31, 2019.

Produced by LeBron James, Maverick Carter and Steve Stoute and directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Trish Dalton, Student Athlete unveils the exploitative practices within high-revenue college sports by examining the financial and emotional impact on young men caught in the system.
