Co-founded in 2005 by Gloria Steinem, WMC seeks to positively impact the visibility of women in the media, amplify women's voices on key issues in the national dialogue, fight sexism and bias against women in the media, and increase professional opportunities for women across all forms of media.
Equality Now is an international human rights organization that works to protect and promote the rights of women and girls around the world. Equality Now's Women's Action Network comprises 35,000 groups and individual members in over 160 countries.
Co-organized by Bella Abzug, this historic, federally funded conference brought over twenty thousand people together to create a plan of action for promoting gender equality. "Of all the big events that I've experienced it was the most underestimated... it was so important," Steinem comments in the film.
