David Mills began his TV career by co-writing an episode of "Homicide: Life on the Street" with David Simon. Mills then served on the writing staffs of "Picket Fences," "NYPD Blue" and "ER." He reconnected with Simon to co-write the HBO miniseries "The Corner." In 2002, Mills created the NBC limited series "Kingpin."
Born in Washington, D.C., Mills spent nine years as a professional journalist, as a staff reporter for The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times and The Washington Post. He also co-wrote the 1998 book "George Clinton and P-Funk: An Oral History."
