Working his way up from the Wichita Eagle and Kansas City Star, Scott Templeton has made it to The Baltimore Sun, but he still sees his job as a general assignment reporter there as a stop along the way to a real newspaper like the Washington Times or Post. The self-promoting Templeton is hungry and willing to go to great lengths for a plum assignment. His prose reflects his ambition: overwrought with a tendency towards exaggeration. He's a favorite of Whiting and Klebanow, and someone Gus Haynes keeps a tight leash on.
