In Baltimore's Western District, Dennis Mello is the administrative lieutenant and the Baltimore-accented voice of the roll call room. A Western man to the core, he was unsettled by Colvin's move to shift the drug trade to three areas where district policing was not a priority. But as the perils of the situation began to mount, Mello's loyalty to his major never bent. The aftermath of the Hamsterdam left Mello as the acting commander of the Western, and he now finds himself playing mentor to Sergeant Carver.
