Tristan Wilds, a Staten Island native, is having the time of his life in Maryland playing Michael on the HBO series The Wire. Tristan caught the acting bug at the age of 7 because his older brother Tai was in the business, but it wasn't until 2003 that he began acting professionally. He was first seen by television audiences playing AJ in the mini-series Miracle's Boys, directed by Spike Lee. Since then he has done a workshop of Wool for The Roundabout Theatre Company, where he worked with Phylicia Rashad, and he played the role of Brice in a workshop of Stockholm Brooklyn for the Cherry Lane Theatre. Tristan will next be seen starring opposite Ryan Gosling in the feature film Half Nelson, which just premiered at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. When Tristan isn't acting he can be found playing video games, writing poetry and his new hobby, boxing. He has four brothers and sisters and his favorite foods are "anything his mother cooks."
