DeAndre McCullough, who was one of the subjects of David Simon's book 'The Corner,' passed away recently. On his blog "The Audacity of Despair,"David Simon recalls the 15-year-old boy he met on the corner of Fayette Street and his interactions with DeAndre over the years. "To remember him as we met him, twenty years ago, is to know everything that was lost, everything that never happened to a boy who could surprise you with his charm and wit and heart."
