Sherry Stringfield is best known to television audiences around the world as Dr. Susan Lewis on NBC's hit medical drama, 'ER,' a role which has garnered her three Emmy nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress on a Drama Series as well as two Golden Globe nominations and a People's Choice Award nomination for Favorite Female Performer. With 112 Emmy nominations over the course of the show's run, it remains a critical and audience favorite.
Born in Colorado Springs, Colorado and raised in Spring, Texas, Stringfield went to college in New York, where she studied with the Acting Conservatory at State University, New York at Purchase. She went on to appear in numerous off-Broadway productions before accepting a three-year contract on 'Guiding Light.'
Her additional credits include a series regular role of 'Laura Kelly' on the ABC hit series 'NYPD Blue' as well as the feature films, 'Autumn in New York' with Richard Gere and Winona Ryder and '54' with Mike Meyers, Salma Hayek and Ryan Phillippe. In addition, Sherry can currently be seen recurring on the critically acclaimed HBO series 'Tell Me You Love Me' as well as on the hit CBS series 'Shark' recurring as James Woods' legal nemesis Nora March.
Stringfield currently resides in Los Angeles with her two children.
