"You either get made, or your bed gets made."

HBO
What type of game is this? How does Paulie Walnuts fit in?
SIRICO
The player comes to me first, and I open the door for them into this world ... If they've ever wanted
to be mob guys, or tough guys, or get smacked around by mob guys or tough guys, this is the game
to buy. It's a lot of fun, it's a lot of fun.
HBO
The game is called The Sopranos®: Road to Respect™. How do you get respect in the Soprano's
world?
SIRICO
How do you get respect? The only people that get respect in the Sopranos world are guys that are
made. Made guys. That's the whole key to this game. At the end of the trip, you either get made,
or your bed gets made, you know what I mean? Or you get found under the bed. [LAUGHS]
HBO
How do you get made?
SIRICO
You stand around a bunch of tough guys, they tell you what you can do and what you can't do, or
they'll break your head. If you agree, they suck some blood out of your body, and they burn stuff in
your hands, maybe in your hair, and you get made.
HBO
And what do you have to do to get to that point?
SIRICO
I would imagine you have to kill two or three guys... [LAUGHS]
HBO
There's a lot of opportunities for improvised weapons use in the game. What are some of the
improvised weapons you've used on the show?
SIRICO
Guns, bats, I smothered an old lady with a pillow, sorry about that. [LAUGHS] Just kidding, don't
mind my laughter! Shovels ... I think I strangled somebody and...
HBO
What's Paulie's character? Does he intimidate or is he a smooth talker?
SIRICO
Paulie's tough as nails. The only way Paulie lightens up is when you can handle that tough as nails
attitude. You gotta work at lightening him up.
HBO
How do you rate Paulie in the high stake poker games?
SIRICO
Paulie thinks he's pretty good. Bad loser. He's a good second to Silvio, in the losing department.
And he's another piss and moaner. Matter of fact, he hates to lose. He's a racketeer, he's a killer.
How dare you beat him? But, you know, he's, he's okay. He thinks he's better than he really is.
That's the bottom line with Paulie. [LAUGHS]
HBO
What do you think it was about this show that just hit that nerve?
SIRICO
Well, for the first two years, we had no idea what we were doing here. I mean we were working like
a well-oiled machine. We all got along. And you like the show because of the chemistry. We had
no idea the effect it had, and we were working so hard the first couple of years, that we had no idea
what we were doing ... we had no idea till one day, bada bing, we found out that they loved us. Now
what did you ask?
HBO
What do the fans say to you when they see you on the street?
SIRICO
How's your balls? Got that from this year. Some girl came into a restaurant, and she said, "how's
your balls?" I said, "what?" She said "how's your balls? The show." I said, "oh-ho-ho" [LAUGHS] I got
a lot of fans out there. I guess the white hair, [SNAPS FINGERS] you can spot me coming mile
away...
HBO
What do you enjoy about your character?
SIRICO
I watch him and he makes me laugh. That's Paulie, that ain't me. He's a crazy guy. He's a crazy,
crazy guy ... [CHUCKLES] ... He's a walking contradiction and very funny. [LAUGHS]
HBO
What are some of the trademark Paulie characteristics we'll see in the game?
SIRICO
A lotta fingers. A lot of laughter. A lot of threatening, a lot of beating ups. Lotta blood. And very
funny. Paulie's very funny. Matter of fact, he's more funny than dangerous in this. Then again, it's nip
and tuck.
HBO
When and if it's Paulie's time, is Paulie gonna go quietly?
SIRICO
You gotta massacre Paulie. Paulie's going out shooting, and taking people with him. You hear that,
David Chase? [LAUGHS]
