In Sync: The Music of the Sopranos
The innovative use of pop music - generally chosen by series creator David Chase himself--has been a calling card of The Sopranos throughout its six seasons. "Very often, a scene and a song sort of sync up," says Chase. "Things that you wouldn't think would be in sync at all. Like the emotional peak of a song will be right at the edit when the picture changes. All by itself. Maybe it's because we're human. Our clocks are all the same or something."
David Chase selected his favorite musical choices, including the song he waited 20 years to use, Tony and Carmella's high school favorites and the series' iconic opening theme. You can download some of the best of these tracks from our new iTunes playlist below. |
