Federico Castelluccio can be seen on the critically acclaimed, award-winning HBO series, "The Sopranos." where he plays Tony Soprano's hottest hit man, Furio Giunta. Some of his most recent film credits include: "Made" with Jon Favreau, "Fire" with Robert Klein and "Eighteen Shades of Dust" with Danny Aiello.
Federico began his career as an actor in 1986 studying with such esteemed teachers as Donald Buka, Charles Laughton, Molly McCarthy and April Shawhan. In the natural progression of a NYC actor, Castelluccio began doing showcase plays, Summer Stock Theatre, Off-Off Broadway and Shakespeare Festivals. He was with several Repertoire companies including, Eclectic Theatre Company and Flock Theatre Company, where he did classics, contemporary and Shakespeare, including "A View from the Bridge," "Twelfth Night," and "Good Night Desdemona", Good Morning Juliet." While playing the part of Murk in John Patrick Shanley's "Savage in Limbo", Federico was noticed by agents at Barry Haft Brown in NYC and began freelancing almost immediately with them and other agents including Dulci Eisen & Association and Ro Diamond at SDB in Los Angeles. While doing plays, Castelluccio found himself venturing into film, doing everything from student films and film shorts to independent features. His television credits include the NY soaps "As The World Turns" and "The Guiding Light." Other television credits include The HBO Comedy Special with Robert Klein.
Born in Naples, Italy Federico Castelluccio came to the United States with this family in 1968 at the age of three and a half. He grew up in Patterson, New Jersey and was determined to become an artist and eventually an actor. Having an innate ability for drawing and painting, his talents did not go unnoticed. In 1982 Federico was awarded a full scholarship to the prestigious School of Visual Arts in New York City, where he earned a BFA in painting and media arts. Just prior to winning the scholarship, Castelluccio got the opportunity to do a painting for veteran George Burns. When Federico presented him with the portrait, Burns introduced him to people from PBS, ABC and other networks that found merit in his painting. He was hired by these networks and became an award-winning illustrator and continued to work professionally all through his college years. Castelluccio stopped illustrating in 1992, yet had been acting already for 6 years and simultaneously made the transition from illustration to fine arts. He exhibited his paintings in several NYC galleries over the years, including Yoshi, Silverstein, and Ambassador Galleries. Castelluccio's paintings are in private and public collections in the U.S., South America and Europe and he continues to allocate his time between both passions.
