Summary: A vagrant Scotsman is wrapped up in the discovery of the body of a drowned woman in this film set in the 1950s. Ewan McGregor stars as Joe Taylor, a barge worker living with a family on the rivers in Scotland. Although he seduces many women, including his boss's wife, Joe is stunned when he and his boss discover the body of one of Joe's former lovers floating in the river. As a man is brought to trial for her murder, Joe reflects upon the role he might have played in her death. With Tilda Swinton, Peter Mullan and Emily Mortimer.
