Summary: Susan Sarandon and James Spader play a mismatched couple whose relationship faces social challenges in this drama. Max is handsome, successful and a 27-year-old widower emotionally unfulfilled since his wife's death. Then he meets Nora. She's a sloppy waitress 16 years his senior struggling to make ends meet--but she's also intelligent, compassionate and very sexy.
