Summary: A French officer wanted for World War II war crimes is hidden by the Catholic Church as the law hunts him for decades in this drama. Pierre Brossard (Michael Caine) was sentenced to death for his involvement in the murder of several Jewish hostages in WWII France, but managed to elude the French police with the help of the Roman Catholic Church. Years later, a judge orders a relentless pursuit of Brossard--now an old man struggling with his guilt--to bring him to justice, while a foreign assassination group also assembles in France targeting Brossard. With Tilda Swinton, Jeremy Northam, Alan Bates, William Hutt, John Neville and Charlotte Rampling. Directed by Norman Jewison; screenplay by Ronald Harwood, based on the novel by Brian Moore.
