Summary: A maverick Catholic priest's investigation into his mentor's death leads to his discovery of an ancient Christian sect whose leader can literally devour the sins of those seeking atonement. Re-teaming with his 'A Knights Tale' writer/director Brian Helgeland, Heath Ledger stars as the young priest who belongs to a dying order. Joined by a young woman (Shannyn Sossamon) with whom he has a past, the cleric's search for answers takes him into dangerous supernatural territory...leading to a shocking confrontation with the Sin Eater himself!
