Summary: Meet the Lovings: an interracial couple who had to go all the way to the Supreme Court to be together. Married in 1958 despite Virginia's anti-miscegenation laws, Mildred and Richard Loving were arrested in the middle of the night for the crime of mixed marriage. Convicted on felony charges and banished from the state, the couple began a nine-year odyssey to get back to their friends and family, culminating in the landmark 1967 case in the U.S. Supreme Court where they finally found justice. This moving documentary features never-before-seen footage of the Lovings from 1965 and elegant still photos from LIFE Magazine that paint a vivid portrait of this often-overlooked story in the civil-rights fight.
