The Day After Tomorrow

Duration :

124

Summary: Global warming results in a series of cataclysmic natural disasters throughout the world--and sets the stage for a new Ice Age--in this thrilling, cautionary disaster epic. Directed by Roland Emmerich, who previously wreaked havoc on Earth in Independence Day, the film looks at the situation from the perspective of climatologist Jack Hall (Dennis Quaid) who makes a failed attempt to warn the world of the impending disaster. Within days, a series of superstorms leave major cities in tatters...including New York, where Hall's son Sam (Jake Gyllenhaal) is trapped with other survivors in the public library after the city is swallowed by a massive tsunami. As the temperature plummets to frigid lows, Jack makes a desperate effort to save his son--and the planet. Ian Holm, Emmy Rossum and Sela Ward co-star. Screenplay by Roland Emmerich & Jeffrey Nachmanoff; story by Roland Emmerich. (PG13) (AL,MV)
