Summary: A single Mexican mother who doesn't speak a word of English is hired as a housekeeper for an affluent but dysfunctional L.A. family in writer/director James L. Brooks's endearing comedy-drama. Attractive young housekeeper Flor (Vega) thinks she's landed her dream job with the Clasky family--acclaimed chef John (Sandler), his self-absorbed wife Deborah (Leoni), their daughter Bernice and Deborah's mother Evelyn (Leachman in hilarious form as a drunken former lounge singer). But life under the control of the domineering and somewhat crazy Deborah drives all of them crazy...and it has Flor worried about the influence on her daughter Christina. (PG13) (AC,AL)
