Summary: A young Polish-American girl is the next in line in a family whose females have all been driven to marry by early pregnancies. When her erotic dalliance with a young policeman leads to the inevitable, she must decide whether or not to follow the family's well-worn path. Meanwhile, she must portray the Virgin Mary in a church procession! A troubling predicament turns into a celebration of life and love in this ebullient comedy-drama.
