Summary: Nominated for four 2006 Academy Awards(R), this scalding drama of illicit desires features blistering performances by Judi Dench (Best Actress nominee) and Cate Blanchett (Best Supporting Actress nominee). Barbara Covett (Dench) is a gravelly old teacher whose Sapphic fires are set alight by the arrival of lovely art instructor Sheba Hart (Blanchett). But Barbara's discovery of the married Sheba's affair with a teenage student stirs her to malevolence--and prompts her to use the knowledge as power to satisfy her own yearnings. Bill Nighy co-stars.
