Summary: The modern phenomenon of Internet celebrity is seen from the perspective of one of the genre's most notorious denizens: Chris Crocker. A 24-year-old video blogger whose videos have over 270 million views to date, Crocker rocketed to fame in 2007 when his "Leave Britney Alone" YouTube rant went viral almost overnight. This film takes an intimate look at Crocker's unique coming-of-age story--one of constant self-surveillance, which he made available on the web for public consumption. But while he received worldwide notoriety, his fame only compounded his personal difficulties. Weaving footage of Crocker with web videos from fans and haters alike, first-time filmmakers Chris Moukarbel and Valerie Veatch craft a portrait of an eccentric young man who may be a fad, a star, or a pioneer of what lies ahead.
