Summary: Jane Fonda and Vanessa Redgrave star in this acclaimed 1977 drama of friendship and courage. Fonda is playwright Lillian Hellman; Redgrave is her girlhood friend, the passionately anti-Nazi Julia. Also with Jason Robards as writer Dashiell Hammett, Hal Holbrook, Rosemary Murphy and Maximilian Schell as Johann. Nominated for 11 Oscars(R), it won three, including Best Supporting Actress (Redgrave), Best Supporting Actor (Robards) and Best Adapted Screenplay.
