Summary: A spirited Parisian woman lives with her two best friends and lovers until they go off to help World War II-era social causes in this romance. Gilda Besse (Charlize Theron) is a lively photographer living a lush existence in Paris before the war. She shares an apartment and an intimate relationship with Mia, a model-dancer who hails from Spain and Guy, a teacher who has loved Gilda for years. As wartime draws near, Guy and Mia feel compelled to join the cause, while Gilda refuses to give up her comfortable lifestyle. The three go their separate ways, but a reunion is inevitable as Guy returns to Paris to assist the French resistance as the Nazis begin occupation.
