Summary: Brian DePalma puts his own stylishly suspenseful spin on "Psycho" and other Hitchcock classics in this "witty, romantic, psychological horror film" (The New York Times). The twist-filled plot centers on a psychiatrist (Michael Caine) who suspects that one of his patients--a transvestite with a split personality--has stolen his straight razor and used it to slash to death a sexually frustrated housewife he had been treating. The red herrings pile up as the murdered woman's son tries to catch the killer with the help of a hooker who witnessed the murder.
