Summary: A blazing summer day in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn is the setting for an explosion of racial violence in this unforgettable Spike Lee film that "comes closer to reflecting the current state of race relations in America than any other movie of our time" (Roger Ebert). Danny Aiello earned a Best Supporting Actor Oscar(R) nomination for his performance as the white owner of a popular pizzeria in the predominantly black neighborhood; his two sons (John Turturro, Richard Edson)-one of whom is quietly racist-help him run the place, while Spike Lee co-stars as his deliveryman.
