Kevin McKidd began his acting career on the stage, starring in "The Silver Darlings," for which he won the Gulliver Award. He made his film debut in 1996 with "Trainspotting" and "Small Faces." His other film credits include "Kingdom of Heaven," "De-Lovely," "The Purifiers," "Sixteen Years of Alcohol," for which he was nominated for Best Actor at the British Independent Film Awards, "One Last Chance," "Nicholas Nickleby," "Dog Soldiers," "Topsy-Turvy," "Hideous Kinky," "Regeneration," "Dad Savage," "Max," "Bedrooms and Hallways" and "The Acid House."
His television credits include "Gunpowder, Treason and Plot," "North Square," "The Key," "Anna Karenina," "Richard II" and "Looking After Jo Jo." McKidd's theater credits include "Richard III," "Britannicus," for which he won an Ian Charleston Award, " 'Tis Pity She's a Whore" and "Far Away." He is currently filming "Elizabeth, The Virgin Queen," a four-part historical drama for the BBC.
