Born in the same Brazilian town as Acelino Freitas, Barros stumbled onto boxing while practicing his first art, the South American martial art of Capoeira. Now, 15 fights into his career (9-5-1) he still believes he can be world champion and is pursuing that goal.

Growing up in East LA as the son of a boxer, Arreola had a 200+ fight amateur career between the age of 8 and 16 before giving up the sport. In 2000 Arreola came back from his self-imposed layoff and managed to win the National Golden Gloves Championship in 2001 after only 3 months of training.

At the age of nine, Dmitriy moved to Brooklyn from the Ukraine in order to escape discrimination against him and his family. Upon arrival in New York, Salita was exposed to Orthodox Judaism and now follows strict adherence to Jewish law.
