They've Got Game
"Cashing in" is a term usually reserved for corporate stock options and athletes making good during their free agent years, but as professional contracts and the corresponding fame continues to explode in sports, cashing in now means something entirely different for thousands of women. Determined to live a glamorous lifestyle, they no longer rely on hotel lobbies or courtside seats to facilitate run-ins with star athletes. Instead, they read "how to" manuals, scour pertinent websites, and frequent chat rooms all in hopes of "catching themselves a baller." Such extensive preparation leads to what is often an athlete's second "game" of the night; a playing field somewhere beyond the velvet ropes of VIP rooms where both sides negotiate a relationship of "give and take." REAL SPORTS correspondent Armen Keteyian investigates these unspoken agreements, what they entail, and the length each party will go to get what they want.
