I've just come back from a week of speaking to real Republicans. I talked to the American Trucking Association. I talked to the American Realtors Association. I talked to two financial management groups yesterday. The Republican establishment is not Rush Limbaugh. It's not Ann Coulter. It's like quiet guys who make a lot of money and want to continue making a lot of money and lead a quiet life.

On Al Qaeda

"Al Qaeda is gaining in strength, from its refuge in Pakistan. Bin Laden and Zawahiri remain in control of their terrorist group. They've recruited a new generation of lieutenants, including westerners, most likely American citizens." You know, isn't this exactly what the Democrats have been saying? Isn't it exactly true? We took our eye off the ball. We went to a place that didn't attack us. And now the place that always was the problem is stronger than ever and ready to attack us again.
