Synopsis

Super Dario

As the NASCAR world eagerly awaits the Daytona 500, so too does Dario Franchitti - for the first time. After nearly 20 years of open-wheel racing, a 2007 Indianapolis 500 win and the 2007 IndyCar Series championship, the 34-year-old Scotsman is switching to NASCAR. For most, being one of the top IndyCar drivers in the world, possessing movie-star looks and being married to actress Ashley Judd would be more than enough, but for Franchitti, there's always another challenge to be conquered. In this Real Sports/Sports Illustrated collaboration, correspondent Mary Carillo profiles NASCAR's newest attraction.

Flying Nun

At 77 years old, Sister Madonna Buder of Spokane, Wash. is not your typical nun. Since taking up running at age 49, she has competed in more than 300 triathlons and is the oldest woman ever to complete the famed Ironman Triathlon in Kona, Hawaii. Real Sports correspondent Frank Deford shares this inspiring tale of remarkable athletic achievement, faith and dedication to others.

New School

For the residents of Colorado City, Ariz., the El Capitan High School basketball program signifies change in a community desperate for something new. For years, Colorado City has been infamous for the practice of polygamy and for being the home of the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints (FLDS) and its recently imprisoned prophet, Warren Jeffs. Now, as the town looks to emerge from Jeffs' shadow, its inhabitants see the El Capitan basketball program as a vehicle to introduce Colorado City to the outside world and dispel the myths surrounding the community's residents, many of whom have no link to the FLDS.

Pat Summitt

With a resume that includes almost 950 career wins, 26 SEC tournament and regular season championships, and seven NCAA titles, University of Tennessee women's basketball coach Pat Summitt is the driving force behind one of the greatest programs in the history of college basketball. Her success extends well beyond the court, from the graduation rate of her players - every Lady Vol who has completed her eligibility at Tennessee has received a degree - to her extensive work as a motivational speaker. Real Sports correspondent Mary Carillo revisits this hoops legend.
