Here Goes Nothing

Sure, news of the Seinfeld reunion going down on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' has been everywhere over the past month or so. But for show creator Larry David, the gag has been in the works for quite some time. "I had the idea a few years ago, but then I also had the idea to do the Katrina [storyline] with the Blacks and that seemed like it wasn't quite as ambitious," he says. "So I put this one off. I knew it was a great idea, but the question was, 'Can we do it? Can we pull it off? Can we get the actors? Can we get the sets?'" Of course, the answer to all those questions turned out to be "Yes," but David still thinks that cast members expected the project to stall out. "They seemed a little dubious during the first call. Some of them said, 'Yeah, sure, whatever.' I just think that they didn't think it was going to happen. I think they were surprised when they got the second call six months later asking, 'Are you available on March 30th to shoot?'" (photo: Toby Canham/Getty Images)

Picking Up a New Instrument

As if Thomas Jane weren't meeting enough ladies on 'Hung,' the actor has decided to become a country music legend. Set to star in a biopic as Glen Sherley, a Folsom Prison inmate and musician who found fame thanks to Johnny Cash, Jane has been spending plenty of time fretting over his homework. "I have been playing open mic nights around Hollywood every Wednesday and Friday night. You can find me destroying guitars and eardrums as I perform a couple of these songs. I am learning to play country music for the role," he says. Hopefully things turn out better for Jane than they did for Sherley. "Part of the story follows how Johnny Cash thrust Glen into the limelight of country music," he says. "All of the attention was just too much for the poor guy. He killed himself." Environmental Factors

Tony Soprano has finally bought the farm ... or farmhouse, at any rate. James Gandolfini and his wife, former model Deborah Lin, just purchased a 'green' home in rural New Jersey, complete with amenities such as geothermal heating and recycled antique hardwood floors. It's a pretty natural fit for Gandolfini, who was born and raised in Bergen County, to settle down in his home state. Now if he could just get his guests to stop digging around in his bird feed ... First Cut is the Deepest

For heavyweight hopeful Cris Arreola, a lot of momentum slammed into a brick wall Saturday night when champion Vitali Klischko handily beat him in Los Angeles. But Arreola, propelled by an undefeated record and an appearance on HBO's web series 'Ring Life,' says he won't let his first loss hold him back. "I want to fight as soon as possible, December or January," he says. "It's back to the drawing board, back to the gym. I'm not going to let this fight break me. I earned this shot and got my [rear] kicked. Now, it's time for me to earn a shot again and do some [rear] kicking." And already, there's one training flaw the notoriously soft-middled fighter says he plans to correct: "No more Coronas." (photo: Will Hart)

What, No Swag Bag?

There was a time when all you needed to do to get folks to write a check for your charity was invite them to get dressed up and eat a plate of poached salmon with a few celebrities. But these days, people are having to work harder for donor dollars. Just look at Matt Damon, kicking it up a few notches to get attention for his children's charity Onexone with his appearance on next week's 'Entourage' season finale ... not to mention his viral freakout at Adrian Grenier during the shooting of a fake PSA. Now if that won't make you fork over a few bucks for kids, what will? (photo: Jason Merritt/Getty Images)
