Hope Davis has been nominated for a Tony award for her role in 'God of Carnage,' along with her castmates Marcia Gay Harden, Jeff Daniels and James Gandolfini. She credits the ensemble effort for the show's success, but admits it's a high wire act making it work. "It takes a lot of energy, [but] it's really exhilarating when it works," Davis said. "Some nights when we're not all [together], it's not all perfect, it's hard. We've had a couple nights where we've started giggling here and there when something goes wrong 'cause you're really riding the edge of hilarity and hysteria, and it's not that hard to tip over into all of us melting down." Headlining the rom-com of the season sounds like a pretty sweet gig, but Ginnifer Goodwin did notice one side effect to appearing in a press-courting event flick like 'He's Just Not That Into You.' "We were asked so many inane dating questions," she says. "I don't know why anyone would want to ask an actor for dating advice. We are not the poster children for healthy relationships." And though her nearly decade-spanning friendship with Justin Long made that promotional dance a little easier, her role as a dishing, glamorous celeb ended at the red carpet. "When I'm doing a film, I love getting together after work with my costars," she says. "But we get back to L.A. and I'm like, I don't want to go to a club with you, dude. I mean, I think you're rad, and if you want to come play Scrabble with me, that's amazing." (photo: Ray Tamarra/Getty Images)

Playing an icon like Winston Churchill can be nerve-wracking for an actor and Brendan Gleeson admits he had his concerns when he took on the role for HBO Films' 'Into the Storm.' Says Gleeson, "I was a little wary of it being a bridge too far, of miscasting myself, but the people involved were very encouraging." Seems he can rest easy because he's gotten the thumbs up from Lady Mary Soames, Churchill's daughter. "I think she was genuinely pleased," Gleeson says. "She said I didn't fall into the usual traps or something of that nature. Of course for her it was looking into the past. She said, 'This is very emotional for me.'" (photo: Fred Duval/FilmMagic.com)

Adrian Grenier played an air drummer in his pal and band-mate (the real) Ari Gold's movie 'Adventures of Power." But if you'd like to hear him playing actual drums in their band The Honey Brothers, check out their new song: 'Demonstration.' The band that has described itself as Hawaiian-Appalachian Glam Rock will be hitting a few summer music festivals late summer with their latest summer rock anthems. As a co-executive producer of HBO's new four-part series on Alzheimer's, Maria Shriver wanted to speak frankly to people about how she handles her father having a difficult illness. The former news woman, Kennedy family member, California's First Lady, and mother of four does not, in fact, have it all. And she's tired of magazine covers with famous, perfect-seeming women, making the rest of us feel bad. Explains Shriver: "So I've tried to speak as authentically as I can, that I don't have it all together, that the road is bumpy, and I don't have any shame in sharing that. I find that people are so grateful that you say, 'Well, I'm having a very difficult time with my parents getting older.'" (photo: Amy Sussman/Getty Images) |
