Obamathon

HBO will kick-off Inauguration week with an exclusive presentation of the star-studded opening ceremony on Sunday, January 18th. In the spirit of unity and inclusion, the show will be made available to all cable and satellite subscribers. No word yet on the performer line-up; Bill Clinton's ceremony in 1993 included Bob Dylan and Diana Ross. The event launches what promises to be a heavily covered several days of activities leading up to the January 20th swearing in. (photo: Paul Morigi/WireImage.com)

Write Who You Know

Most customers come to Houston's Murder by the Book to shop for paperback thrillers, but Charlaine Harris — author of the novel series that led to 'True Blood' and a longtime fan of the bookseller — has picked up a few characters at the store. Former general manager Dean James's name was lent to a particular collie in Harris's stories, and the new owner of the store, 26-year-old McKenna Jordan, makes an appearance in the Sookie series as a clothing store clerk. "I might just say, 'Can I help you,'" Jordan says, "but I'm in there." Harris is pictured here with 'True Blood' star Sam Trammell (Sam Merlotte). (photo: Todd Williamson/WireImage.com)

Nucky Break

It may have been Vince Chase who got the call from Martin Scorsese for a lead role in his next project on 'Entourage,' but in the real world (if that's what they're calling Hollywood these days) it's actor Michael Pitt who's gotten the tap for Marty's new HBO series pilot 'Empire.' Pitt ('Dawson's Creek,' 'The Dreamers') would play Jimmy Darmody, a flunky for a rum runner named Nucky (Steve Buscemi) in Prohibition era Atlantic City. (photo: Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images)
