No more Polaski Skyway for 'Sopranos' star Jamie-Lynn Sigler. She's leaving the Garden State for Hollywood, where she'll appear for a three-episode stint on 'Entourage' as a love interest of one of the guys. "'Entourage' is one of my favorite shows, and I'm thrilled," she told E! Online. "I'm playing myself, which can be weird, so I hope I don't PLAY myself!" Saturday night, Wladimir Klitschko defends his WBO and IBF heavyweight titles against Tony Thompson in Germany. Even though Klitschko's got the stats in his corner (50-3, 44 KOs) the 37-year-old Thompson is hot to win, according to his promoter Dan Goossen. But not for the reasons you might expect: the southpaw needs to put some of the prize money towards a new air conditioner and stove. "He understands that the only way he's going to get those things fixed is to go over there and take care of Klitschko," Goossen said. "This is a big opportunity for him. A victory puts him on the map." ![]() Chloë Sevigny and James Ransone arrive at the Los Angeles premiere of the HBO Films miniseries 'Generation Kill' in Hollywood. Eleven-year-old Madison Davenport was musing over the difference between 1930's America and present day at a recent screening for 'Kit Kittredge.' The young actress, who plays Kit's BFF Ruthie Smithens, noted: "Our clothes have definitely changed. And we have got TV, and we've got Game Boy and we've got the Wii. Basically, life has definitely changed from using anything you had around as something to play with, to, well, kind of taking things for granted." Even though she gets to play Guitar Hero and Ruthie didn't, Davenport still managed to identify with her character: "I relate to Ruthie because she's a girlie girl and so am I." Strange reports of public homoeroticism and ethnic insensitivity have been coming in from around the globe, which can mean only one thing: Sacha Baron Cohen has begun filming. First, the comedian's alter ego Bruno demanded that a Palestinian academic and former Mossad agent clarify how "hummus" could be responsible for terrorism. "Hamas is a Palestinian Islamist political movement. Hummus is a food," they tried to explain to no avail. At the site of another incident in Arkansas, a crowd of wrestling fans expecting to see a cage match instead found themselves watching two men stripping their clothes off and kissing each other. "It set the crowd off lobbing beers," police Sgt. Adam Holland said. "They had beers in plastic cups. Those things can get some distance on them actually." In 'The Art of Failure: Chuck Connelley Not for Sale,' a new HBO documentary by Jeff Stimmel, the troubled artist doesn't necessarily come off as an angel, but fame has its benefits. In an exclusive interview, Connelley reports: "It's good to get all this attention. Friends are even treating me nicer. And the movie doesn't even show me as a better person, but people treat me like I am." Timothy Olyphant may have turned in his badge now that 'Deadwood' is a thing of the past, but he's reporting for duty on FX's legal drama 'Damages' come fall. Seems like the actor will once again be flirting with the law, playing opposite Rose Byrne (who plays attorney Ellen Parsons) and rumor has it he'll be tangling with Glenn Close and William Hurt as well. For 'Wire' exec-producer Ed Burns, the interviews always seem to get a bit personal. First, reporters dug into his experience as a Baltimore cop and public school teacher, and now that he's set his sights on 'Generation Kill' they're asking about his service in Vietnam. When a Salon.com writer asked whether the on-set warfare made him "anxious," Burns replied: "No, I just felt very old. I'm just incredibly impressed with these guys that I've met. ... When I was in Fort Dix, N.J., in basic training, I shoveled snow to get ready for Vietnam. We were just a drafted Army. The training was horrible. The equipment was OK, but it's nothing [compared with today]. What's happened even in Iraq in the last five years, it's astounding what they can do now." The Hughes brothers (Albert and Allen), the directing team behind 'American Pimp,' are expanding their turf to include an HBO drama pilot 'Gentleman of Leisure' about a thirtysomething pimp who's trying to get out of the biz but keeps getting pulled back in. ![]() Do It for the Children
For the first time, parents have allowed their children to discover the existence of Ian McShane. The 'Deadwood' star sans hookers and F-bombs has cleaned up his act in 'Kung-Fu Panda,' voicing an animated tiger (he's pictured here with co-stars Jack Black, Lucy Liu and Dustin Hoffman). "I think the nasty words I used on 'Deadwood' gave regular people out there a license to be profane," he says. "I've done so many tougher roles over the years, that it's nice to be considered for a wonderful summer movie that children will go see. Of course I still play the bad guy in 'Kung Fu Panda,' but it's actually quite a joyous thing to know that little children will sit in theaters wanting the good guy to defeat me."
