Lydia Dean Pilcher (executive producer) is founder of Cine Mosaic, based in New York City. She is currently producing "Music Is the Weapon," a feature film about Fela Kuti, with director Steve McQueen for Focus Features. She most recently produced "Amelia," the story of Amelia Earhart, directed by Mira Nair, and starring Hilary Swank, Richard Gere and Ewan McGregor. Pilcher has enjoyed a prolific collaboration with director Nair, having produced or executive produced her films "The Namesake," "Vanity Fair," "Kama Sutra - A Tale of Love," "The Perez Family," "Mississippi Masala" and HBO Films' "Hysterical Blindness."
Pilcher previously received a Golden Globe nomination as executive producer of HBO Films' "Iron Jawed Angels" and Emmy® and Golden Globe nominations as executive producer of HBO Films' "Normal"; she also produced "Disappearing Acts" and "Strapped" for the network.
Pilcher also produced Wes Anderson's "The Darjeeling Limited"; among her other producing credits are "Jesus' Son," "Cradle Will Rock," "Chinese Box," "The Kill-Off" and "Pets or Meat: The Return to Flint."
Pilcher has served two terms as Vice Chair of the Producers Guild of America East and co-chairs the National Green Committee of the PGA. She also currently serves on the Board of Directors of The New York Production Alliance.
