Bio

William Hurt (Henry "Hank" Paulson) has been nominated for four Academy Awards®, winning for "Kiss of the Spider Woman," and has received Emmy® and Golden Globe nominations for his recurring role on the award-winning series "Damages." Hurt's more recent film credits include "Robin Hood," "The Incredible Hulk," "Vantage Point," "Into the Wild," "Mr. Brooks," "The Good Shepherd," "Syriana," "The Village" and "A History of Violence," which garnered him an Oscar® nomination and Best Supporting Actor accolades from the Los Angeles Film Critics Circle and the New York Film Critics Circle. Hurt made his film debut in "Altered States"; his other credits include "A.I. Artificial Intelligence," "One True Thing," "Michael," "The Accidental Tourist," "The Big Chill" and "Body Heat." He also received Oscar® nominations for "Broadcast News" and "Children of a Lesser God." On the small screen, Hurt appeared in "Moby Dick," "Nightmares and Dreamscapes," "Frankenstein," "The Flamingo Rising," "Master Spy: The Robert Hanssen Story," "Dune" and "Varian's War." He spent the early years of his career on the stage, appearing in more than 50 productions, including "Henry V," "5th of July," "Hamlet," "Richard II," "Hurlyburly," for which he was nominated for a Tony Award, "My Life," which won him an Obie Award for Best Actor, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "Good."
