Matthew Modine

Matthew Modine (John Thain) earned Golden Globe and Emmy® nominations for HBO's Emmy®-winning original movie "And the Band Played On."  His other TV credits include "Weeds," "Into the West," "The Bedford Diaries" and "What the Deaf Man Heard," which garnered him a Golden Globe nomination.  Modine's extensive list of feature credits includes "The Trial," "Opa!," "Transporter 2," "Le Divorce," "Any Given Sunday," "If...Dog...Rabbit," "Short Cuts," for which he shared a Golden Globe Award for Best Ensemble, "Pacific Heights," "Married to the Mob," "Full Metal Jacket," "Vision Quest," "Birdy" and "Streamers," for which he and his cast mates received a Best Actor Golden Lion Award.  Three of Modine's short films, "When I Was a Boy," "Smoking" and "Ecce Pirate," debuted at the Sundance Film Festival.  On stage, he has starred in "The Miracle Worker," "To Kill a Mockingbird" and "Matthew Modine Saves the Alpacas."
