Synopsis

Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr. star in this fact-based film about a newspaper columnist who discovers a violin virtuoso living on the streets of L.A. Hearing the strains of a violin one day, veteran L.A. Times scribe Steve Lopez (Downey Jr.) comes to meet Nathaniel Ayers (Foxx), a homeless man whom he's shocked to discover was once a musical genius and Juilliard student. Playing an instrument with just two strings, the mentally ill Ayers inspires Lopez with his beautiful music, leading to an unlikely friendship between the pair.
