HBOs The Normal Heart Nominated for 16 Emmys

The Normal Heart received 16 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, the Television Academy announced on July 10, 2014. The HBO movie was the year's most nominated movie and the fourth most nominated program overall, led by a nod for Outstanding Television Movie and nods for six performers.

Acting nominations included Mark Ruffalo for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie; Jim Parsons, Joe Mantello, Alfred Molina, and Matt Bomer for Outstanding Supporting Actor; and Julia Roberts for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
 
Director Ryan Murphy was honored for Outstanding Directing, while writer Larry Kramer was honored for Outstanding Writing.

The Normal Heart was nominated in seven more categories, including:

Outstanding Cinematography: Danny Moder

Outstanding Costumes: Daniel Orlandi, Gail A Fitzgibbons, Hartsell Taylor, Maria Tortu

Outstanding Hairstyling: Chris Clark, Joe Whitmeyer, Valerie Gladstone, Frida Ardottir, Lyndell Quiyou

Outstanding Makeup: Eryn Krueger Mekash, Sherri Berman Laurence, Nicky Pattison, LuAnn Claps, Mike Mekash, Carla White

Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup: Eryn Krueger Mekash, Sherri Berman Laurence, Christien Tinsley, Mary Anne Spano, James Sarzotti, Nicky Pattison

Winners will be announced at the 66th Annual Primetime Awards, airing live Monday, Aug. 25, at 8 pm ET on NBC.
